Yukio Mashimo leads Obayashi's green energy business in New Zealand. His initiatives include the operation of New Zealand's first megawatt-class green hydrogen production facility in Taupo through Halcyon Power Ltd, a joint venture with Tūaropaki Trust, and a green hydrogen refuelling station in Wiri through Halcyon Green Hydrogen Ltd, also a joint venture between Obayashi and Tūaropaki Trust.
In addition to these hydrogen initiatives, Yukio led Obayashi's investment in Fabrum and more recently the acquisition of a 50% stake in Eastland Generation Ltd, a renewable energy generation company based in Gisborne.
Prior to moving to Auckland, Yukio held various management positions within the Obayashi Group, including directorships of subsidiaries in the USA and Canada. His experience includes leading mergers and acquisitions and major infrastructure public private partnership projects. Yukio holds an MBA from Georgetown University in Washington DC, USA.
